Standing Still at Warp Speed

The Rate of Change

Where We Are Headed

Daniel 12:4 indicates that near the end of this age (just before Jesus comes back), knowledge will increase. I'd say that's already happening.
Ecclesiastes 1:18 tells us that increased knowledge = increased sorrow.
We’re not going to go into an in-depth study here on what’s going to happen before Jesus comes again. But, the Bible mentions earthquakes, wars, famine, disease and a lot of scary things that will take place in the final days. But, these things will not be a sudden shock. We’ll be use to it (can you say "Katrina", "tsunami", "flood", "salmonella", "tornado", "Columbine", "911", "Swine flu", just to name a few). Yep, were becoming desensitized.
Luke 17:26-27 Says when the end of this age comes we will be busy marring, eating , drinking, buying and selling things; we will be building and planting; just everyday life.

Hanging On

Sounds like we can expect things are going to be a little crazy(er) in the future. Some folks might just pass smooth out with worry.
But, for the Christian who has faith in our Lord, as bad as these things are, there is a huge comfort in seeing things foretold in the Bible coming to pass. Knowing what is going on, who is in control and where it will all end, makes for a special confidence that can strengthen us in these times.
Matthew 10:28 is a command for the Christian while weathering a storm.
Philippians 4:13 gives the Christian strength to stand strong even in the face of personal tragedy and loss.
